These permissions are declared in the Zikr Android manifest (see app/src/main/AndroidManifest.xml) and are only requested when a feature needs them. You can allow or revoke each one from your device settings at any time.
READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE for Android ≤ 12, plus READ_MEDIA_AUDIO, READ_MEDIA_IMAGES, and READ_MEDIA_VISUAL_USER_SELECTED): Lets you pick wazaif images, audio recitations, and other media so the app can list, play, or upload the files you select. All chosen content stays on your device.WAKE_LOCK): Prevents the screen from sleeping during active playback or recitation sessions, ensuring audio is not interrupted. The lock releases as soon as playback stops.FOREGROUND_SERVICE & FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK): Keeps long-running audio in a foreground service with a system notification so dhikr continues reliably even when you switch apps.POST_NOTIFICATIONS): On Android 13+ you are asked for consent so Zikr can surface playback controls, reminders, and status updates as system notifications.ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION & ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION): Powers the Qibla direction compass. Location data is used only to orient the compass in real time and is not stored after use.INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): Enables downloading or streaming remote recitations (for example when using Android Auto) and checks connectivity before attempting network actions. Zikr does not use these permissions for telemetry beyond determining whether a connection is available. All permissions are optional but certain features (such as media playback or the Qibla compass) may not function without them.
